Solar and LED Technicians are taught the basic concepts of electricity, electronics, LED and solar photovoltaic (PV) system. They are also trained to prepare work areas, the structures for panel installation, fix solar LED lighting and connect them to the solar panels using appropriate tools and equipment.

"I am Ashorba Gaikwad and my father is a farmer. We have less than 2 acres of land on which whatever farming we did was the source of our income. This money was not enough for the upkeep of my family. Because of poor financial conditions, I had to drop out of the education system after completion of 12th. I used to help my father on the farm but the efforts were not giving me results. When I came to know about the PMKVY program I decided to enrol for the training of Solar Panel technician. I learnt in-depth about the equipment and Solar energy uses. On completion of the training, MOSAIC, my training company, helped me to get a job at Advik Pvt. Ltd as machine operator with a salary of INR 15,500 per month. This training changed not only my life but my family’s life too.
