She spent decades teaching Sociology at Utkal University, built a strong academic pro file in academics and consulting, and became the senior-most female professor in service in Odisha. She also served as the Vice-Chancellor (in charge) of Utkal University during a challenging period and later continued contributing as an Adjunct Professor at National Law University Odisha.
