An ICU Technician plays a crucial role in monitoring and maintaining life-support equipment in intensive care units. They operate ventilators, defibrillators, and other critical devices, ensuring they function properly. ICU Technicians also assist doctors and nurses by providing essential technical support during emergencies, managing patient data, and maintaining equipment hygiene to ensure optimal care for critically ill patients.

SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Ventilator setup and troubleshooting (IPPV, SIMV, CPAP, BiPAP modes)

  • Cardiac monitor, pulse oximeter, and ABG analyser operation

  • ICU infection control and VAP bundle compliance

  • Equipment calibration and maintenance logs (NABH standards)

  • BLS and ACLS certified emergency response

  • Arterial blood gas (ABG) collection and reporting
