Mamina Patnaik stands as a trailblazer in Odisha’s drug control administration. As the OPSC topper for drug inspector recruitment, she joined in 1997 as the state’s first woman drug inspector. She progressively rose to become the first woman assistant drug controller (ADC), deputy drug controller (DDC), and joint drug controller (JDC). In 2024, she made history again by securing the permanent role of drug controller (DC), having previously managed it on an interim basis during the critical Covid-19 period. After a brief tenure at the state medical services corporation in 2023, Patnaik continues her impactful leadership until 2030.
