Dr. Sarita Jena is a scientist and the person in charge of the Laboratory Animal Facility at the Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar, India.
She holds a B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree from the College of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry, Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT). She has also pursued advanced international certifications in laboratory animal sciences, including the FELASA-C course from Utrecht University and the LabVet Europe (FELASA-D accredited) programme from the University of Copenhagen.
Dr. Jena has been serving as a scientist at ILS since 2008 and has led the Laboratory Animal Facility as scientist in charge since 2019. Prior to joining ILS, she worked as a junior veterinary officer with the government of Odisha. Her expertise lies in laboratory animal sciences, veterinary care, and research facility management.
