Kailash Chandra Sahu

Kailash Chandra Sahu, born on 21 November 1961 in Bellagam village, Ganjam, Odisha, reflects determination and passion for science. From rural beginnings, he rose to global prominence in astronomy. He studied at Gandala Ganesh Vidyapeetha, earned an M.Sc. in Physics from Berhampur University (topping his class), and completed a Ph.D. from Gujarat University in 1985, followed by research at IIT Kharagpur and in Europe. At the Space Telescope Science Institute (1995), he led the groundbreaking validation of Einstein’s theory by measuring the mass of white dwarf Stein 2051B.
